Liverpool still wants this ‘ideal’ Mohamed Salah replacement

Joining in 2017, Mohamed Salah has cemented his legacy at Anfield. The Egyptian has won every trophy on offer and is arguably one of the greatest to ever play for Liverpool. But every era comes to an end, with Pool lining up the ‘ideal signing’ as a replacement.

With Salah turning 34 next June, Liverpool will have to look for options in the wing. Not everyone can fill up those big shoes and it is crucial the club gets things right. Salah was the Premier League’s Player of the Season last term, thus expectations will be sky high on any replacement.

However the Merseyside club have zeroed in on an option.

Mohamed Salah replacement still wanted by Liverpool

Antoine Semenyo was regularly linked with a transfer to Liverpool. A prime target during the last summer window, Liverpool management was high on the player.

According to the Telegraph‘s Sam Dean, there were “important figures” at Liverpool who saw Semenyo as the “ideal signing” in the summer. Semenyo is in outstanding form for Bournemouth this season, with six goals and three assists in eight appearances.

The Ghanian international signed a five-year contract with Bournemouth, tying him to the club until 2030. But for the right amount he would be allowed to leave Dean Court.

Whether Liverpool revisit their interest is something we will have to wait for. But as far as Bournemouth is concerned, it will have to be for a club record transfer.

Liverpool welcome Manchester United to Anfield as they resume Premier League football on Sunday. Meanwhile Semenyo will come out for Bournemouth against Crystal Palace a day earlier.
