Liverpool star on the brink of shock Serie A switch in blockbuster transfer U-Turn

Liverpool are likely to say goodbye to several of their Premier League title heroes this summer as Arne Slot pushes for a major squad revamp. One of those Reds stars is closing in on a move to Italy, which will be a major shock in the upcoming transfer window.

Sporting director Richard Hughes and manager Slot are in agreement that Liverpool will need to clear up squad space for the arrival of new players in the summer.

Several Liverpool stars are under the scanner as the Reds continue to mull over whether to sell them or hold on to them amid talk of the club wanting to sell as many as ten stars in the upcoming window.

However, a few players are almost certain to leave Anfield, and one such target is attracting major interest from Italy ahead of the next transfer window.

Serie A giants push towards signing a Reds star

Several players are expected to move on from Anfield this summer, but Darwin Nunez is one of those certainties who are expected to be sold soon.

Al-Hilal want to sign him from Liverpool before next month’s Club World Cup, and as many as three more Saudi clubs are interested in the Uruguayan striker.

Napoli are also interested in the forward, and a blockbuster swap deal with Liverpool involving Nunez and Osimhen has also been mooted.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Serie A giants have stepped up their efforts to sign the striker in the upcoming transfer window.

It has been claimed that Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has been in contact with Nunez’s representatives to discuss a potential deal.

A move to Napoli will allow the striker to stay in a top European league and play in the Champions League next season.
