The Merseyside giants have made some stellar moves ahead of the transfer window and are set to make a big splash in the market. However, Liverpool are set to miss out on signing a teen sensation who is set to snub a transfer in favour of staying put at his current club.
Liverpool are on the cusp of signing Bayer Leverkusen, who is set to join the Merseyside giants for a club-record fee in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Reds are also set to announce Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival, and the club are also in negotiations with Bournemouth for the signature of Milos Kerkez.
However, Liverpool’s attempts to steal a teen sensation in the next transfer window are set to be thwarted, with the player now likely to stay at his current club.

Teen sensation to snub transfer to Liverpool this summer

Chris Rigg, who turns 18 in June, is one of the most wanted young midfielders in England, with almost every top club interested in signing him this summer.
Liverpool are among the teams who are keeping tabs on the teenager with a view to taking him to Anfield in the upcoming transfer window.
However, Football Insider journalist Pete O’Rourke has insisted that Sunderland will not need to sell Rigg due to Jobe Bellingham’s impending move to Germany.
With Sunderland also getting promoted, he believes Rigg will likely stay at the Stadium of Light and further enhance his value by performing in the top flight next season.
“If Jobe Bellingham goes, which now looks inevitable after travelling to Germany for talks, it will boost their transfer kitty again”, O’Rourke said on Football Insider.
“He’s not going to be cheap, it will be around £25-30m.
“So if Bellingham was to go, it improves their chances of keeping Chris Rigg, Dan Neil and others.
“I think the players themselves will be open to staying at Sunderland now that they have Premier League football to offer, and that will do them no harm.
“It’ll only improve them as players and raise their profiles as well.
“They’ll give them a go in the Premier League and maybe enhance their price tags in the future.”
