Liverpool rocked as Arsenal swoop in with lightning £67m striker bid

The Merseyside giants are still in the market for a striker, and significant funds will be needed to bring in a new number 9. However, Liverpool need to raise funds to make a move, and Arsenal are set to take advantage by swooping in quickly for a top striker target.

Liverpool are closing in on making a statement signing this summer, with Florian Wirtz set to join the Merseyside giants for a club-record fee in the coming days.

The Reds are also expected to announce the arrival of Jeremie Frimpon for £30m, and another £40m is set to go towards the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

Liverpool are still keen to sign a striker, but they need either Diogo Jota or Darwin Nunez to leave, and Arsenal have taken advantage by moving in swiftly to try and steal a top target.

Arsenal make a quick move to steal a striker target from Liverpool

Benjamin Sesko is almost certain to move on from RB Leipzig this summer, as several top clubs are circling him ahead of the summer.

Liverpool have had conversations with the striker’s representatives to discuss a deal, but they can’t make a concrete move before Jota or Nunez leaves.

Arsenal have been chasing Sesko since last summer, and according to Sky Deutschland, the Gunners have now opened talks with Leipzig to sign the forward.

The Gunners are aware of the interest Liverpool have in the striker, and are keen to negotiate a quick deal to take him to the Emirates this summer.

However, it is still unclear whether the north London club will be ready to pay the full package demanded by Leipzig for the 21-year-old.

He has a release clause worth more than the £67m figure, and the German club are in no mood to offer discounts.
