Liverpool shocked as first team star tells agents to handle exit

Liverpool are bracing themselves for a major exit this summer.

The reds are preparing for some departures. Major changes are expected to the first team squad. Many fans at Anfield have complained about the squad’s depth this season. Outside the starting lineup, the back up players have failed to make an impact this campaign.

Liverpool are expecting to lose some of these stars in the upcoming window. Caomhin Kelleher could be on the move this summer. The Ireland international is being monitored by Chelsea and Newcastle. His performances in the absence of Alisson have convinced Premier League clubs of his quality.

Some additions will be made to the attack. Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are all expected to leave. Arne Slot has reportedly asked for new arrivals ahead of next season.

Liverpool have also braced themselves for major departures from the first team. Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold could all leave at the end of the season. The trio could all leave in the coming months. Van Dijk recently shut down rumours of a contract extension. Mohamed Salah also hinted that he wants to win the Premier League to end his time at the club.

Another player with contract issues at Anfield is Ibrahima Konate. The French defender revealed he is yet to sign a new deal with the reds. The offer has been on the table since last year. Liverpool want to tie down the 25-year old long term. With Van Dijk possibly leaving, keeping Konate is a priority.

Paris Saint-Germain have expressed their interest in a move for the defender. According to ESPN, Konate is a priority target for the Ligue 1 holders. During an interview, the Frenchman reacted to the reported interest from big clubs:

“To hear big clubs like that are showing interest in me is very flattering!,” said Konaté on the show which aired this Sunday morning. “Now I’m focussing on this season, giving it my all and I’ll let my agents take care of the rest.” he said via Telefoot.

Reds need to handle the situation

It is just a few months to the end of the season, and Liverpool are dealing with so many rumours. The news has been dominated with reports of mass departures. Since January, as many as five team players have been linked with a move away. Ibrahima Konate is the latest name. Liverpool need to act fast and speed up contract negotiations involving the Frenchman.
