Liverpool shock Man United with stunning hijack of £60m relegated gem

Liverpool have shown in the past that they could build title-winning sides by snapping up players from a relegated team. Andy Robertson and Georginio Wijnaldum were plucked from relegated sides and became core players of a team that won the Premier League and Champions League.

Arne Slot is looking to add to his Premier League-winning side, and he is not averse to the idea of plucking a brilliant player from one of the relegated sides of the Premier League this season, despite having a big budget.

Sporting director Richard Hughes has an eye for talent, and while the club are considering ambitious projects such as Florian Wirtz, they are not shying away from looking at relegated sides for options.

Liverpool have identified a brilliant talent in a relegated side, and are looking to beat Manchester United and a few other clubs to his signature this summer.

The Reds have their eyes on a relegated gem

Southampton will go down as one of the worst teams to grace the Premier League, and will again play in the Championship next season.

However, Tyler Dibling is likely to be featuring for a top Premier League side next season, as according to TEAMTalk, Liverpool and Manchester United are pushing hard to sign him.

The two Premier League sides, along with Chelsea and Tottenham, have been scouting the 19-year-old winger all season, and are keen to snare him away from the Saints.

Southampton have slapped a massive £100m price tag to ward off suitors, but he is likely to be sold for somewhere around £60m this summer.

However, the Saints are under no financial pressure to sell, and while Dibling wants to play at the highest level, he will not agitate for a move.

It is up to Hughes and the Liverpool recruitment team to work out a deal with Southampton if they want to sign the England Under-21 winger this summer.
