Liverpool are set to win the Premier League soon, but work is underway behind the scenes to bolster Arne Slot’s squad in the summer. The Merseyside giants are looking at strengthening several areas of the squad, including shuffling the goalkeeping options for next season.
The Merseyside giants are expected to be in the market for a goalkeeper as Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to leave, and there are question marks over Alisson Becker’s long-term future.
Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to arrive at Anfield this summer, and he is clear about wanting to be the Liverpool number one next season.
With the uncertainty around Alisson, the Merseyside giants are expected to sign a new goalkeeper who could act as the number 2 to Mamardashvili from next season.

Reds target deemed too expensive at the moment

Gregor Kobel is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League ahead of next season.
Liverpool are among the clubs that are interested in getting their hands on the goalkeeper, but Dortmund’s asking price has emerged as a major stumbling block.
According to CaughtOffSide, the German giants have slapped a £43m to £47m asking price for the goalkeeper ahead of the start of the transfer window.
It has been claimed that Liverpool and some of his other suitors are in no mood to pay such figures for Kobel and are considering alternative targets.
They are also aware that if Dortmund do not qualify for the Champions League, they will come under financial pressure to sell Kobel in the summer transfer window.
Their negotiating position will get weakened if they do not end up in the Champions League next season, and will be forced to accept a lower fee for the goalkeeper.
