Liverpool set sights on PSG star

Liverpool manager Arne Slot offered key updates regarding Alisson Becker and Alexis Mac Allister's injuries

Liverpool are drawing up plans for the summer transfer window at the end of the season as speculation over the future of several of their stars continues unabated at this stage of the campaign.

The Merseyside giants are putting tentative plans in place for the transfer window at the end of the season as they look to carry out an evolution of their squad.

However, any planning is getting complicated as the club are still unsure whether some of their most important players will be at Anfield next season or not.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future will dictate whether Liverpool need a new right-back but the club are making sure they have contingencies in place.

If the Liverpool-born defender joins Real Madrid next summer on a free transfer, Liverpool would know which player they want to replace him with.

The club are keeping tabs on several young talents but the club are also willing to splash the cash on a big-name player to soothe nerves on Merseyside.

Achraf Hakimi is part of the conversation at Anfield

Hakimi is considered one of the best right-backs in world football and one of the most important players in PSG’s team.

However, a right-back carousel next summer could see the Parisians lose the defender to one of the big names of European football.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool are one of the clubs who have their eyes on the defender as part of their plans.

The Reds will want a top-class replacement if Alexander-Arnold decides to move to Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer.

Can you name the club Liverpool signed these players from?

Dominik Szoboszlai

His attacking qualities will fit perfectly with what Arne Slot demands from his full-backs in the Liverpool team.

He would cost more money than other younger options but Liverpool are likely to want someone who can walk straight into the team to replace Alexander-Arnold.

However, a move for Hakimi is likely to be complicated as reigning Premier League champions Manchester City have also identified him as Kyle Walker’s long-term successor at the Etihad.

Even Real Madrid would be keen on him but if they make a move for the PSG star, it is likely because Alexander-Arnold decided to stay at Anfield.
