Liverpool were keen to sign Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth this summer, but the Spaniard decided to accept an offer to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Kerkez is expected to arrive in the coming days, but according to TBR Football, the Reds want to sign one more centre-back from the Cherries this summer.
Ilya Zabarnyi joined Bournemouth in January 2023, but had his breakthrough season last year when he featured 36 times in the Premier League for the Cherries.
The 22-year-old Ukrainian centre-back has emerged as an option for Liverpool, who admire the consistency and composure he showed last season.
Chelsea also have their eyes on Zabarnyi, and Bournemouth are facing the real prospect of losing their starting centre-backs for the 2024/25 campaign.
PSG have also expressed an interest in him, but the Cherries have no plans to sell Zabarnyi in the ongoing summer transfer window.
With Huijsen joining Real Madrid and Kerkez expected to move to Liverpool, Bournemouth are under no financial pressure to sell the Ukrainian.
