Hendo contract + Saul offer yet to be made

Fabrizio Romano says that Liverpool are facing issues on two fronts at the moment as they look to sign Saul and extend Jordan Henderson’s contract.

Writing in a column for Bench Warmers, the journalist said: “Liverpool will have to resolve the Jordan Henderson issue because it is real that there is no agreement so far for his new contract.

“Many clubs especially abroad appreciate him, there has been talk of PSG in France but the club still hopes to convince him to renew his contract, while there has been no offer at Atletico Madrid for Saul Niguez..

Pundit baffled by financial support for Klopp

Speaking to Football Insider, Kevin Phillips has said that there could be friction between FSG and Jurgen Klopp over the club’s transfer budget.

“Why would you try and upset Jurgen Klopp unless there are underlying issues?”

“I can’t imagine there are but you never know. Just keep him happy, give him the money. That’s shocking.”

Liverpool considering Guido Rodriguez

Liverpool are considering a move for Real Betis’ star Guido Rodriguez and could get a huge €50million discount.

According to Spanish newspaper La Razon, Liverpool ‘threaten the continuity’ of Rodriguez at Betis as they consider taking him to Anfield.

The report states that although the midfielder has an €80million release clause in his contract with Betis, they would be willing to let him leave for just €30m.

Shaqiri has put pressure on FSG to sell him

Xherdan Shaqiri has put pressure on FSG to sell him this summer after he namedropped Lazio to the Italian press, says Jose Enrique.

He told EOTK: “With Xherdan Shaqiri coming out and saying he wants a new challenge, and name-dropping Lazio to Italian journalists, it likely means the club have already been in touch for him.

“And what he’s now done is put a little bit of pressure on the owners. If the money isn’t right, maybe Liverpool aren’t happy with what another club has offered, the best thing a player can do is to apply pressure.”

Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg say that Liverpool are aware of Bayern Munich’s stars with contracts running down.

When asked who from the Bundesliga would fit in at Anfield or who Liverpool have been keeping an eye on, the journalist said: “It’s difficult to say…

Renato Sanches should make Liverpool switch, says Jose Enrique

Jose Enrique thinks that Renato Sanches would be well suited to making a summer switch to Anfield, he told Empire of the Kop.

He said: “Renato Sanches is a player I do know a little bit more about – he has the potential to be a world-class player. He moved to a big, big club when he was very young and sometimes these kinds of transfer are not easy to handle.

“But maybe now it’s the time for him to make a step into a bigger team. With one year left on his contract, he could be a good signing for us.”

Liverpool and Spurs contact Sampdoria for Mikkel Damsgaard

Liverpool and Spurs have contacted Sampdoria for information on Mikkel Damsgaard, according to Sport Mediaset.

The Italian outlet reports that Liverpool, Spurs, Aston Villa and Leeds United have all made contact with the Serie A outfit.

While Sampdoria are loathe to let Damsgaard leave, a bid of around €35million will reportedly see talks ‘take off’.

Liverpool and Chelsea bid for Chiesa

Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg confirms that Liverpool and Chelsea bid to sign Federico Chiesa but they were both rejected.

He told LFC Transfer Room: “Liverpool and Chelsea made a bid for Federico Chiesa.

“Chelsea 100% bid €100million, I don’t know the amount that Liverpool bid. Juventus turned down the bids and Chiesa wants to stay at Juve.”
