Liverpool rocked as fan favourite agrees shock transfer to Everton

The Merseyside giants have made a few stunning moves, but the club are now assessing the future of several of their players ahead of next season. A top Liverpool talent is now considering a move to bitter rivals Everton in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Liverpool are set to spend big this summer, with their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz grabbing all the headlines at the end of last season.

However, the Reds are also keen to sell several of their fringe stars as the club want to raise funds and make space in their squad for new arrivals in the ongoing transfer window.

Liverpool are set to make a few big decisions on certain players, but it seems a top young player is set to end more than a three-decade run by joining Everton ahead of the new season.

Liverpool star set to cross Merseyside divide by seeking Everton transfer

Gary Ablett is the last player to join Everton from Liverpool, and Abel Xavier’s move to Anfield from Goodison Park was the last transfer between the two clubs in 2002.

However, Everton have been tipped to succeed in their pursuit of Liverpool winger Ben Doak, who is expected to leave Anfield in the ongoing transfer window.

Former Everton scout Bryan King feels Doak would want to join Everton, and he doesn’t see Liverpool blocking the player from crossing the Merseyside divide this summer.

“I think Doak would agree to join Everton”, King told Goodison News.

“I can’t see that being a problem. There have been many players who have played for both Everton and Liverpool. The question is, will he get more playing time with Everton?

“I can’t see Liverpool refusing to sell to Everton. They’ve worked well in the past; players have gone from Everton to Liverpool and vice versa. Big-name, international players.

“Therefore, I don’t think this will be a problem for a young player who would probably get more of a chance at Everton than at Liverpool at this moment in time.”
