Bayern Munich tipped to complete huge transfer to sign a Liverpool star

Cody Gakpo has scored 18 times in all competitions this season, and Liverpool have not envisaged selling the player in the ongoing transfer window.

Bayern Munich are showing serious interest in the player, but he is one of the top names on their shortlist of targets in the summer.

It has been claimed Liverpool are open to selling him if a club offer in excess of £50m, and former Bayern Munich star Mark van Bommel believes Gakpo would be a success in Bavaria if he moves this summer.

“Cody is doing very well for Liverpool and also for our national team”, Van Bommel told Bild via TEAMTalk.

“He’s a very fast winger who performs brilliantly on his own. What’s special is that he’s also a very good finisher. He’s a real goal threat. In addition to his footballing qualities, Gakpo is Dutch – and Dutch players have always been good at Bayern.”

Arne Slot does not want to lose the Liverpool star, but the decision to sell him is likely to depend on the size of the fee they will get.
