Liverpool risk Real Madrid creating more noise around Trent Alexander-Arnold if a new deal is not sorted out soon

Trent Alexander-Arnold has yet to make a decision on whether to stay or leave Liverpool at the end of the season. The Reds are in talks with him over a new deal but Real Madrid are trying to lure him to the Spanish capital next summer. The tug-of-war between the two clubs will likely fever pitch in January when the player will be free to hold talks over a pre-contract with clubs outside England.

The Merseyside giants want to hold on to a player who is considered one of the greatest success stories of the club’s academy. A 26, he has already won it all at Anfield and is seen as the next club captain.

However, there is no agreement between the two sides over a new deal despite Liverpool being prepared to offer him a contract that would make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

Liverpool are aware of the importance of holding on to Alexander-Arnold. However, the player is believed to be undecided on his future despite suggestions that his priority is to stay at Anfield.

Real Madrid are in constant contact with the player’s representatives and are presenting a compelling case for him to move to the Santiago Bernabeu on a free transfer next summer.

He is their top target for the right-back slot and Real Madrid are prepared to pull out all the tricks from their bag to ensure that Alexander-Arnold’s head decisively turns towards wanting to move to Spain.

Liverpool need to sort out the new deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold soon

Alexander-Arnold holds all the aces at the moment in this saga. Dragging the negotiations into 2025 works for him as he would also have a real offer from Real Madrid on his table, which could be used as a reference point in negotiations with Liverpool.

Liverpool have one more reason to press the accelerator on the negotiations – Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants are masters of manipulating the media and planting stories when they are chasing top players in the market. There is enough history to suggest that they create enough noise to turn heads.

Real Madrid are projecting confidence that they are about to sign Alexander-Arnold and according to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, they are looking at the next 20 days as vital.

Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?

If a new deal is not agreed upon, they will make their move for him in January and have not ruled out signing him in the winter window itself.

Liverpool will not sell him while they are chasing a Premier League title but the report is one more instance of Real Madrid making noise in the media.

If the Reds do not work out a new deal with the player soon, they should expect more such stories to appear as January looms closer.
