Liverpool replace Trent Alexander-Arnold with shock £16m star

Trent Alexander-Arnold has already confirmed that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, when his current contract expires. Liverpool have been considering several players who could replace him in the squad, but the club have come to a shocking conclusion.

Alexander-Arnold has drawn the line on his time at Liverpool after spending 20 years at the club, and will leave the Merseyside giants at the end of the season.

He is set to join Real Madrid, who are trying to convince Liverpool to let the player go early in order to allow him to play in the Club World Cup next month.

Liverpool have been keeping tabs on several right-backs ahead of the summer, but Arne Slot and sporting director, Richard Hughes, have come to a shocking conclusion on who could replace Alexander-Arnold.

Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?

The Merseyside giants want a shocking player to replace Alexander-Arnold

Replacing Alexander-Arnold would be complicated, and it would be hard to find a player who could come in from outside and replicate what he does for the team.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong is one of the players the club are interested in signing, but the Reds are now considering an option within the squad.

According to Rousing The Kop, Liverpool are seriously considering playing Wataru Endo at right-back next season as part of their plans.

Conor Bradley is already in the squad, and the Merseyside giants believe Endo could be the second option for right-back in the squad.

The Japanese midfielder has been sparingly used this season, but Slot does not want to sell the player in the upcoming transfer window.

Liverpool now believe that Endo could play at right-back and allow the Reds to invest their transfer funds in other areas of the squad next season.
