As the team edges towards winning the Premier League, Liverpool are working behind the scenes to have a big summer. Arne Slot wants several new reinforcements as he looks to revamp the squad in the next transfer window, and new signings for the defence are on the cards.
The Liverpool manager is actively looking to reconfigure the attack despite Mo Salah signing a new deal, and several forwards could be shown the door for younger replacements.
Liverpool are set to hold on to Virgil van Dijk, who will soon sign a new deal, but the Reds are already looking at players who could be long-term replacements for him.
The Merseyside giants want to bring in defensive reinforcements in the summer, and the club are eyeing two players from the same Premier League club this summer.

Liverpool plot double swoop in the summer

Liverpool want a centre-back and a left-back, who could be the long-term replacement for Andy Robertson in the team.
David Ornstein has revealed that the Reds are pushing to secure deals for the Bournemouth duo of Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez in the next transfer window.
“It’s going to be a really busy summer with recruitment,” Ornstein told NBC Sports on Sunday.
“I think they’re in the mix for Dean Huijsen at Bournemouth, the centre-half, and Milos Kerkez, the left-back at Bournemouth. Perhaps a striker with Darwin Nunez expected to leave as well.”
Huijsen has a £50m release clause in his contract, while Milos Kerkez is expected to leave the Cherries for a fee of around £40m in the summer.
Several other clubs are chasing them as well, but the presence of Richard Hughes at Liverpool is expected to give the Reds an advantage in the race to sign the duo.
