Liverpool are almost certain to sign a striker next summer as there are serious question marks over the long-term viability of Darwin Nunez as the main man up front for the Reds.
Nunez has not convinced anyone at Liverpool that he could be the long-term number 9 and Digo Jota, while being impressive, is not seen as a central striker at Anfield.
Liverpool are in the market for strikers and Richard Hughes and his recruitment team have been looking at players who could suit the requirements of Arne Slot’s team.
The Merseyside giants have been heavily linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak has also emerged as a shock target.
Liverpool have also recently been linked with an interest in Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram who joined the Nerazzurri last year on a free transfer.
The Reds’ interest in the Inter star is ‘real’

Thuram has eight goals and registered five assists in all competitions this season for Inter and has been a pivotal player in Simone Inzaghi’s team.
It emerged recently that Liverpool have their eyes on him and according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, their interest in the striker is real.
The Merseyside giants have added his name to their shortlist of strike targets and will monitor his situation for the rest of the season.
Thuram is happy at Inter and credits the club for his development as a top striker in the last 18 months.
Inter do not want to lose him and a £71m release clause in his contract does protect the club for the time being.
Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
However, Liverpool have serious interest in him and they will have to make a decision on whether they will be ready to trigger the clause in the summer.
The Reds could also offer the forward a lucrative contract to move to Anfield but for the moment, Thuram is showing little inclination to leave Inter.
However, Inter need a big sale every summer to balance their books and Thuram wants to understand whether they could look to sell him at the end of the season for financial reasons.
