Liverpool plot shock swap deal for Premier League star

Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes and his recruitment team are assessing their squad as they seek to identify areas of the team that need strengthening in 2025.

The Merseyside giants do not expect to be busy in the winter window as the club believe that they have enough depth in their squad to sustain a title challenge.

However, Liverpool are planning to go big in the market next summer and the club are setting up their priorities for the transfer window at the end of the season.

Liverpool have been linked with several left-backs but the club are unlikely to strengthen that area of their squad if they do not sell one of Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas next summer.

It seems a decision has been made on one of those two left-backs and the club are preparing to carry out a change in that area of the squad at the end of the season.

The club are putting together an audacious swap deal

Robertson is a valued member of the squad and the club have plans to offer him a new contract once the 2024/25 season is done.

This puts Tsimikas’ future at the club under the scanner and according to TBR Football, Liverpool plan to move him as part of a reshuffle at left-back.

It has been claimed that the Reds are prepared to offer the Greek defender as part of a deal to bring in one of their left-back targets.

Liverpool are interested in getting their hands on Fulham’s Antonee Robinson as the long-term left-back option for the future.

Robinson has piqued the interest of the Liverpool scouts and they believe the Fulham defender is an elite option for the left-back spot.

The Merseyside giants are ready to offer Tsimikas to Fulham as part of a swap deal to take the 27-year-old defender to Anfield in the summer.

Robinson has a £40m price tag but Liverpool hope to bring that figure down by using the Greek left-back as a makeweight in a deal with Fulham.

Liverpool are also looking at other left-back targets but Robinson could provide them with a unique opportunity to pull off a shock swap deal.
