Liverpool plot Real Madrid raid for Mo Salah replacement

Mohamed Salah has yet to agree to sign a new contract, and Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes would not be doing his job if he was not actively looking at players who could come in and potentially replace the Egyptian star in Arne Slot’s team next season.

Salah wants to stay at Liverpool and the club are also keen to hold on to him but there is still no agreement over a new deal between the player and the club.

The 32-year-old forward wants the club to offer him the security of a three-year contract given his contribution to the club and the fact that he is still performing at the top level for the Reds.

However, Liverpool are reluctant to get trapped in a long and expensive contract for an ageing player even if his name is Mohamed Salah who has scored 221 times for the club and is still the most dangerous forward in their team.

The stalling of the negotiations has led Liverpool to consider replacements for Salah and several players are on their radar who could come in to replace the the star man.

Barcelona winger Raphinha has emerged as a shock target but Liverpool are prepared to look for a Salah successor at Real Madrid as well.

AC Milan and Juventus have their eyes on him and are exploring a deal to sign the winger in the summer.

Real Madrid have not decided whether to sell Diaz but he has suitors who are prepared to offer him an exit route out of the Santiago Bernabeu.
