Liverpool will spare no expenses this summer.
After a quiet season, the reds are now set for a massive overhaul of their current squad. This season, the only permanent additions to the first team were Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili. Mamardashvili was sent out on loan to Valencia for the rest of the season. Throughout the season, Arne Slot has been handicapped by the Liverpool squad. In crucial games, the Dutch coach has not been able to rely on reserve options.
This was very clear in the last two games against Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle. When Mohamed Salah was marked out of both games, the rest of the Liverpool attack failed to make an impact. In the two games against PSG and Newcastle, Federico Chiesa was the only goalscorer.

Liverpool eye Champions League star

Trent Alexander-Arnold is on his way out of Anfield. The defender is set to sign a five-year deal with Real Madrid. Trent will bring his long stay at his boyhood club to an end this summer when his contract ends. Liverpool still have Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, with plans to extend their contracts. The duo have indicated they want to stay at Anfield on improved terms. Liverpool have been handed a huge boost after Salah rejected a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
With Trent’s departure, the reds are in the market for a new right back. Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield. Christian Falk reported over a week ago that Arne Slot had personally made contact with the 24-year old.
Now the Irish Examiner has revealed that Liverpool have made contact with the Leverkusen star. Frimpong has already hinted that he is ready to leave Germany ahead of next season. It has been reported that a fee of £50million will be enough for Frimpong to part ways with the Bundesliga side.
Further reports say Liverpool’s plan B is to move forward with Conor Bradley next season. The club is in talks to give a new deal to the defender, as he is highly rated by Arne Slot. Bradley has played 22 games for the reds this season, mainly deputizing for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
