Liverpool are Premier League champions, and have made moves ahead of the transfer befitting of that status. However, the Merseyside giants are preparing to lose one of the key men behind their success as he nears an Anfield exit in the coming days.
Sporting director Richard Hughes has been active in the market and has set up deals that could transform the title-winning squad in the 2025/26 season.
Liverpool are confident of agreeing on a deal to sign Florian Wirtz in the coming days, and Jeremie Frimpong has already arrived on Merseyside to complete a transfer to Anfield.

Arne Slot set to lose a key lieutenant this summer

John Heitinga joined Liverpool along with Arne Slot last year as assistant coach to the Liverpool manager last year, and has been a key reason behind their success.
A former Everton man, the Dutchman has been a key lieutenant to Slot, and his knowledge of English football has been important for the Reds manager.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, he is currently in talks to return to Ajax as their new head coach ahead of next season.
Ajax are in the market for a new manager, and are keen to bring in Heitinga, who previously managed ther first-team on an interim basis.
The Dutchman has Liverpool’s blessings to seek a return to Ajax, and is expected to become their new head coach in the coming days.
The Merseyside giants have already started the process of finding his replacement and will soon confirm an addition to Slot’s staff once Heitinga’s departure is confirmed.
