Liverpool make transfer decision on 25-year-old star

New Liverpool gaffer Arne Slot has enjoyed a great start to the season this year

Liverpool have some big decisions to make over the next few months with the futures of several of their stars hanging by the thread.

The Reds are sitting at the summit of the Premier League table after seven games and there is a wave of optimism flowing through the club at this moment in time.

Arne Slot’s early impact has pleased the Liverpool hierarchy and they are now being considered as legitimate contenders to win the Premier League this season.

However, the question marks over the futures of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have continued to dominate the headlines.

Their contracts need to be sorted out soon to allow the club to move forward but there are issues around the futures of some other players in the squad as well.

The spotlight is on Caoimhin Kelleher due to the hamstring injury Alisson picked up before the international break and the Ireland international will start the next few games.

Kelleher has been vocal about his ambition of being a number one goalkeeper and Shay Given recently admitted that he should have left Merseyside this summer.

However, Liverpool have been reluctant to lose him until now.

Liverpool make transfer decision on Kelleher for next summer

Kelleher was wanted at Nottingham Forest in the summer but the Reds rejected an offer from their fellow Premier League club.

He has continued to remain at Anfield as the understudy to Alisson despite being keen to play more football somewhere else.

However, the goalkeeper is now likely to get his wish as according to Football Insider, the Reds are prepared to move him on next summer.

Liverpool have taken the decision to let the Ireland international leave the club in search of regular football at the end of the season.

The Reds are committed to signing Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia next summer and he is being seen as the long-term replacement for Alisson.

Liverpool’s interest in Roma’s Mile Svilar recently indicated that Kelleher could be moved on at the end of the season.
