Liverpool have walked the talk and backed Arne Slot in the ongoing summer transfer window by moving for a couple of ambitious targets. However, the Reds boss is in for a shock as the club have performed a U-turn on the future of a player admired by the Dutchman.
The Merseyside giants have shown ambition and intent in the transfer window, and their pursuit of Florian Wirtz is evidence that Liverpool want to reach the next level in the coming years.
However, Liverpool are also keen to sell several fringe stars, and several players have been identified as players who could be sold for good fees this summer.
Arrne Slot is keen to ensure that Liverpool hold on to a few players. However, one of those stars could be moved on despite what the manager wants.

Liverpool open to selling an Arne Slot favourite

Bayern Munich have identified Cody Gakpo as one of their targets, and the club are keen to push for his signature in the ongoing transfer window.
Liverpool’s official stance is that they do not want to sell him and see the winger, who they value at £84m, as a key part of the club’s plans for the future.
However, according to the Empire of the Kop, Liverpool would reconsider their position if a club offered somewhere between £59m and £67m in the ongoing transfer window.
Arne Slot is a fan of the Dutch winger, but the club are open to selling the forward, who scored 13 league goals last season, to raise funds from the market.
Liverpool believe they can get an upgrade on Gakpo if they can get a big fee from his departure this summer.
It remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich are prepared to meet Liverpool’s asking price for the winger.
