Liverpool are sitting at the summit of the Premier League table under new manager Arne Slot but the board are already putting ambitious plans in place to improve the squad.
The Merseyside giants were less than aggressive in the summer transfer window but Slot’s start to life as Liverpool manager has managed to provide the board some breathing room.
However, the Reds are keen to make sure they do not commit the same mistakes and are keen to be more proactive in the market in the winter transfer window.
Liverpool are already planning to sign a defensive midfielder in January but they are plotting a far more ambitious transfer agenda for next summer.
With Mohamed Salah linked with a move away from the Reds next summer on a free transfer, the club are already looking at options who could replace him.
The Merseyside giants are also aware that they could need to bring in a big name to replace Salah if he leaves.
Liverpool are also planning to add some more real quality to their midfield and they have their eyes on one club where they can find two players.
Liverpool make ‘contact’ with £200m duo
The Real Madrid duo of Rodrygo and Aurelien Tchouameni have emerged as viable targets for the Premier League giants.
Rodrygo has suffered due to Kylian Mbappe’s arrival in the summer and he has seen his game time get reduced this season.
Liverpool are eyeing him as a potential replacement for Salah and the Reds are also interested in his teammate, Tchouameni.
The Reds held talks with the player before he agreed to join Real Madrid in 2022 but he has yet to establish himself as a certainty in the team.
According to Todo Fichajes, Liverpool have made contact with the two players through market emissaries.
The Merseyside giants are trying to assess whether they are prepared to make a move to Anfield at the end of the season.
It would be a real scoop if they could sign both but there are multiple hurdles to overcome before any deal could be completed.
There is no certainty that the duo are prepared to leave and it would take as much as £200m to snare them away from Real Madrid next summer.
