Liverpool will be in the market for quality additions when the window opens.
The reds are set to revamp the squad at the end of the season. Liverpool are willing to back new boss Arne Slot, with around £200million set aside for transfers. The former Feyenoord boss managed to breathe new life into the current squad this season. Liverpool have only made two first team signings this campaign.
Slot has done great work managing the squad so far. His commitment to keeping the core of the team fit has benefitted the club in the long run. The Dutch coach has also found a way to bring the best out of some players in this new possession-based style. Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister look like two completely different players from last year under Klopp.

Despite all their efforts this season, and how well the team have been under Slot, the squad depth let them down. Liverpool’s options off the bench have cost them in crucial games this season. The reds exited the FA Cup in a shock loss to Plymouth after they rested many first team stars. Slot’s lack of quality off the bench was the reason why Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League knockout tie. The French club were able to bring on the likes of Goncalo Ramos and Desire Doue off the bench, while Liverpool had to turn to Wataru Endo.
This has pushed the club to focus on adding reinforcements this summer. One area Liverpool are looking to improve is the defence. With the club set to lose two players on free transfers, replacements are necessary. Football Insider report that Liverpool have made signing Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen a ”priority” this summer. The 19-year old will reportedly be available, with a £50million release clause for the Spaniard.
Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Huijsen’s teammate Milos Kerkez.
Reds need to move fast for Huijsen
With such a stellar campaign in the Premier League this year, Dean Huijsen has gotten himself a long list of suitors. It is guaranteed that Europe’s best clubs will be in the market for the young defender. Liverpool have to act fast, and pull out all the stops to sign the Bournemouth star. He would make the perfect addition to the backline next season.
