Liverpool have been linked with a surprise move for Chelsea’s struggling winger Mykhailo Mudryk. According to a report from Fichajes, the Reds are eyeing the Ukrainian international as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
However, given Mudryk’s underwhelming performances since arriving at Stamford Bridge, it’s hard to see how he would thrive at Anfield.
Mudryk has had a challenging time in the Premier League, failing to meet the high expectations that came with his move to Chelsea.
With just seven goals in 64 appearances, the 23-year-old has struggled to make an impact, and critics have frequently questioned whether he can adapt to the demands of English football.
Despite this, Liverpool have reportedly been monitoring the winger and could be willing to make a deal worth around €35 million, with add-ons that could push the fee to €50 million.
Does Mudryk fit Liverpool’s style?
While a change of scenery might be exactly what Mudryk needs, nothing in his current form suggests he would be a star for Liverpool.

The Reds have a specific playing style under manager Arne Slot, which demands intensity, creativity, and consistency from their wide players.
Mudryk’s inconsistent performances at Chelsea raise doubts about whether he could meet these requirements at Anfield.
At Chelsea, Mudryk has often struggled to find his rhythm, and his confidence appears to have taken a hit.
If he hasn’t been able to flourish in a team that regularly rotates its attack, there’s little reason to believe he would suddenly find his feet in a Liverpool side brimming with top-level talent.
Liverpool already have a wealth of wingers
Another reason why this potential move doesn’t seem to make sense is Liverpool’s current depth on the wings.

The Reds already boast an array of top-class wingers, including Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, and new signing Federico Chiesa. All of these players are versatile, highly effective in Klopp’s system, and have proven their worth in the Premier League or on the European stage.
With such an abundance of attacking options, it’s hard to see where Mudryk would fit in, let alone make a significant impact.
Signing him as a replacement for a world-class player like Salah, who has consistently delivered for Liverpool over the years, would likely raise more questions than answers.
