The Merseyside giants have already shown their intent and ambition in the transfer market with a few stunning moves this summer. However, Liverpool are set for a major internal win as a top player is set to reject a big transfer move to Real Madrid.
Liverpool have already indicated that they are in no mood to lie still after winning the Premier League and are prepared to take their squad to the next level in the coming weeks.
The Reds have already confirmed Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival from Bayer Leverkusen and have continued to remain in negotiations with the German club for the signature of Florian Wirtz.
Liverpool are now on the verge of convincing a top player to reject a transfer to Real Madrid, and signing a new contract with the Merseyside giants in the coming weeks.

A Liverpool star is set to snub a transfer to Real Madrid

Ibrahima Konate has entered the final year of his contract at Liverpool, who are in talks with his representatives over a new deal.
Real Madrid are aware that the defender will be too expensive this summer, but have actively encouraged the player to run down his contract at Anfield.
However, according to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have made some much-awaited progress in negotiations with Konate’s representatives over a new deal.
The talks towards the end of May were constructive, and Konate is now closer to agreeing on a new contract than he was before.
An agreement is still not in place, but Liverpool are more confident about securing the Frenchman’s future at the club with a new deal than they were a few weeks back.
More importantly, the Reds are on their way to thwart Real Madrid’s plans of signing Konate on a free transfer at the end of next season.
