Liverpool handed £50 million transfer boost

Liverpool are expected to reinforce their midfield options in the upcoming transfer windows. The club plan to sign a defensive midfielder in the winter window but they are putting plans in place for next summer.

The Merseyside giants failed to sign a midfielder in the previous transfer window despite it being considered one of the priorities of their market.

Martin Zubimendi’s decision to stay at Real Sociedad upended Liverpool’s plans and the club decided against chasing another midfielder the entire summer.

Ryan Gravenberch’s emergence has helped to mask the mistakes they made in the last window but Liverpool are aware that they need to bring in midfield reinforcements soon.

Liverpool are even prepared to sell Wataru Endo in January to part-fund a move but the club are already planning something big for the next summer transfer window.

There are now suggestions that Liverpool could be ready to go back for one of their long-term midfield targets at the end of the season.

Club to get a clear run at midfield target next summer

Liverpool are keeping tabs on several midfield options with their scouts watching several players simultaneously before the club decide on a top target.

However, the Reds are now being heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer.

The Frenchman was a big target for Liverpool before he went to Real Madrid and the Reds were disappointed to miss out on him in 2022.

However, he is struggling badly at the moment and was whistled off the pitch by the home fans in Real Madrid’s 3-1 defeat against AC Milan this week.

According to Spanish sports daily AS, Real Madrid are losing patience and the club are now seriously considering moving him on next summer.

Tchouameni has failed to convince and Real Madrid are likely to be open to offers for him at the end of the season.

Real Madrid are set to listen to offers of around £50m for the French midfielder in the summer.

The midfielder would be open to a fresh chance to rekindle his career away from Real Madrid and a move to Liverpool could appeal to him.
