Liverpool eye move for £60million England international

Liverpool have been handed the opportunity to sign a huge Premier League star.

The reds are set to explore the transfer market for options ahead of next season. Seeing how well the team have done under Arne Slot, Liverpool have decided to back the Dutch coach this summer. The club also possibly losing three of their best players at the end of the season has also signalled time for a revamp.

Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are all out of contract this summer. As it stands, there is nothing that shows either of the trio could remain beyond this summer. Losing key players in your spine would be a huge blow, dipping into the transfer market will be crucial.

Fabrizio Romano reported early last month that Liverpool will be in the market for a new defender. With the club set to lose up to three of the starters in their backline, a replacement is very necessary. Liverpool could lose Van Dijk and Trent for free at the end of the season. Ibrahima Konate has also been linked with a move away from the club this summer. The Frenchman’s contract expires next summer, and he has made no long-term commitment.

Liverpool have been linked with Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen as a possible addition to the backline. In recent days, the young defender has been linked with a move to Arsenal. Now the club have set their sights on a more experienced Premier League star. Caught Offside reports that Marc Guehi has informed Crystal Palace of his desire to leave. The defender was the subject of heavy interest from top six clubs after the European Championships last summer. Liverpool were reportedly among the list of suitors. The reds could return for Guehi this summer.

Palace rejected huge offers of around £60million for the defender last summer, with Spurs and Newcastle making bids. With Guehi out of contract in 2026, he could be available for much lower. His club would be forced to accept lower fees to prevent losing him for free in 12 months.

Guehi would be a solid addition

Marce Guehi has a lot of Premier League experience, with a remarkable fitness record. The defender rarely misses games and is a big performer at high levels. People may complain that Crystal Palace is not at the level of Liverpool, but Virgil Van Dijk made a similar step up from Southampton over a decade ago.
