Liverpool €45M plus €5M offer will complete deal for fabulous star by enticing club to sell

Matheus Nunes

Liverpool have been linked consistently with a move to sign Matheus Nunes from Sporting Lisbon.

They have learned that a €45M plus €5M offer will convince the Portuguese outfit to sell this summer even though James Pearce and Fabrizio Romano have rubbished all rumours.

According to Jornal de Noticias, via Paisley Gates, Lisbon will not make any new signings unless they sell players first.

So far, Wolves and Liverpool have shown interest but they are yet to receive an offer that is enticing enough to allow the midfielder to leave.

Latest Reports on Nunes

It has been reported again that if they receive a payment structure of €45M up front and €5M in add-ons, they will sell Nunes.

The Portuguese champions are the third club that Liverpool have attempted to do business with – having signed Luis Diaz from Porto and Darwin Nunez from Benfica.

Rumours have somewhat intensified in recent months from Portugual, but Fabrizio Romano claims there has been nothing official from Liverpool’s side.

Despite having signed Fabio Carvalho, Liverpool seems set to start the season with their current squad – however, some fans are worried about the quality depth given how injury prone some of their current squad is.

Midfield Issues?

Liverpool boasts a big squad and their midfield is deep with experience including Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Thiago, Naby Keita, James Milner, Harvey Elliot, Fabio Carvalho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Despite regular ‘niggling’ injuries to some of the more experienced players – Liverpool managed to cope with their 60-game season last year – which is unlikely to happen again this season.

The call for another midfielder is perhaps not entirely necessary right now; it will be next season, given Milner, Keita and Chamberlain are all out of contract next summer.

A move for Nunes, or long-term target Jude Bellingham, is very likely next summer.
