Liverpool will be in the market for a high profile attacker.
That sentiment has been clear this season after the performance of the team. Even though Liverpool are a formidable attacking unit, and lead the statistics, there is a fundamental problem within the team. Without Mohamed Salah, the team has been toothless this season. And this showed when Liverpool were knocked out of the Champions League and lost the League Cup final. Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle were able to take Salah out of the game, and no other Liverpool attacker stepped up.
There are wide reports that state that Arne Slot is frustrated with the attacking players and will push for new additions. This summer, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could all be moved to raise funds for re-investment.

Liverpool could pursue swap deal for major target

Arne Slot is not a fan of Darwin Nunez. This season, the Uruguayan has been sidelined in favour of using wide players up top. Jota and Luis Diaz has spent a majority of this season playing as the number nine. It has been heavily implied that Liverpool will be in the market for a new striker when the summer window opens.
Over the last month, the reds have made contact with Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. The 25-year old has made it vocal that he wants to play Champions League football next season. With 10 games left in the Premier League, the Magpies have a slim chance of making the competition. Newcastle will be reluctant to sell, but rumours have suggested Isak will be available for a fee around £150million.
This week, Newcastle have shown interest in Liverpool defender Jarrel Quansah. The Magpies have him on a shortlist of targets for this summer. According to TBR Football, the reds could attempt an ambitious swap deal for Alexander Isak. This would involve players like Quansah, Joe Gomez and possibly Harvey Elliot. Nothing concrete has been decided but it is rumoured that a swap deal could be an option. Liverpool and Newcastle United almost completed a swap deal involving Joe Gomez and Anthony Gordon last summer, before the Magpies were cleared of their PSR concerns.
