Liverpool could make significant outlays in pursuit of transfer targets.
The reds are not known for spending huge transfer fees, but that may change this summer. Liverpool need to make some huge changes to the squad ahead of next season. Slot did a great job with the current squad, bringing the best out of players like Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo.
Liverpool are set to lose Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk at the end of the season. The reds will be looking for replacements in case any of the three leave the club. With today’s transfer market, Liverpool will have to pay premium fees for quality players.

Liverpool target £62M rated target

The reds are planning on revamping the attack ahead of next season. Outside Mohamed Salah, the rest of Liverpool’s attack have yet to maintain consistency this season. Salah has 25 goals in the Premier League this season, the second highest at the club is Luis Diaz with 9 goals. Despite all this, Liverpool sit top of the league with an 11-point gap.
Graeme Bailey has revealed that Liverpool are interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha. The journalist mentioned that the Brazilian is on the list of targets this summer:
“He’s clearly one they’re aware of, they like him,”
“He’s had a fantastic season and he’ll certainly be in contention but he won’t be cheap. He’s certainly on Liverpool’s radar, though, as with a few others.”
Cunha has 13 goals and 4 assists in 25 Premier League games this season. The 25-year old scored in Wolves’ loss to the reds at Anfield over a week ago. The Brazilian has a £62million release clause in his new contract he signed this season.
Reds need a new striker
One thing has been pretty obvious since Arne Slot took over. The Dutch coach has preferred to use other players up top instead of big money signing Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan has been poor this season, and nearly left the club in January. Saudi clubs tried to sign the 25-year old but the reds rejected the offer.
Liverpool have needed consistency and most importantly, goals in attack. Matheus Cunha could be the solution. The Brazilian has been in great form this season. His style of play would fit perfectly in Arne Slot’s system. Cunha has an eye for goal and can facilitate play in deeper areas.
The reds could improve their attack with a move for Matheus Cunha.
