Liverpool are expected to spend considerable funds in the January transfer window to back Arne Slot following an excellent start to the season.
There was a mood of doom and gloom amidst the Liverpool fanbase when the club struggled to get moving in the transfer window and missed out on signing an elite defensive midfielder.
However, the pessimism has evaporated around Anfield due to a scintillating start to the season with the Reds now sitting at the top of the Premier League table.
Liverpool are intending to back the new manager in the January transfer window and sign the top defensive midfielder he and the recruitment team wanted in the summer.
However, the Merseyside giants are open to other market opportunities. The club have been keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush who has been termed as Mohamed Salah’s successor in Egypt.
Manchester United to rival Liverpool in pursuit of the Bundesliga striker
Marmoush has scored eight times in six Bundesliga appearances this season and the club’s decision to not sell him in the summer is paying out.
However, he has been linked with a move away from the German side and Eintracht Frankfurt have not ruled out selling him in the middle of the season.
Liverpool are interested but more and more Premier League clubs are joining the chase for Marmoush.
According to CaughtOffSide, Liverpool are set to face competition from eternal rivals Manchester United for the signature of the attacker in the winter window.
Manchester United have scored just five times in the league this season and the club are expected to be in the market for a forward in January.
West Ham are also amongst the clubs who are interested in getting their hands on the Eintracht Frankfurt striker.
The German side are likely to listen to offers for him in January if his suitors are prepared to offer somewhere around £42m for Marmoush.
