Liverpool have already began work on summer signings.
After the reds’ season suffered two huge blows in the space of a week, the ground work has already began. It became very apparent for the club’s need for quality depth after the games against Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle. Arne Slot had to start the same lineup in the space of seven days, and you could tell fatigue played a part in both games.
Earlier this season, Slot rested his key players in some games. But the results were mixed. Choosing to rest first team stars cost Liverpool a place in the later FA Cup rounds. However, late into the season, Arne Slot has not been able to rotate his squad.
Injuries and knocks to Cody Gakpo, Conor Bradley and now Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool a bit light in all departments.

Liverpool close in on major target

The defence will be a key area Liverpool focus on this summer. The reds could lose three of their starting backline when the transfer window opens. Trent and Van Dijk could leave on free transfers at the end of the season. Defender Ibrahima Konate has been linked with some big clubs in Europe, with just one year left on his current deal.
Another Liverpool star whose contract expires in 2026 is Andrew Robertson. The veteran left back has been a great servant to the club, and now, the search for his replacement has began. According to i Paper Sport, Liverpool are closing in on signing Bournemouth left back Milos Kerkez. The report claims that the reds are in contact with the defenders representatives. As it stands, Kerkez is keen on moving to Anfield this summer. Bournemouth will reportedly demand a fee around 50million for the Hungarian international.
Milos Kerkez has two goals and five assists in the Premier League this season.
Great signing for the reds
Andrew Robertson has been ever reliable for the club, but in recent seasons a dip in performance has been very clear. His deputy Konstantinos Tsimikas has failed to convince that he is the long-term solution. Liverpool have the chance to lock down the position for the future if they sign Milos Kerkez.
The Hungarian has great athleticism and is great going forward, similar to Robertson in his best days. Liverpool need quality to challenge next season, and Kerkez is just the player to provide that.
