Liverpool have been active behind the scenes with just a few days remaining in the transfer window.
Arne Slot made it clear that he is happy with the current squad, and that no transfers would be made this month. The Reds lost 3-2 to PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday. Liverpool have already made the knockout round, and Slot decided to rest nine first team stars.
The Reds’ transfer priorities are said to lie in the summer, where major decisions will be made concerning the squad. Contract renewals of Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are still being discussed at Anfield.

Reports from the club have revealed that the Reds will be reviewing some players before the deadline. This was confirmed by Arne Slot after the Champions League game midweek. The Liverpool boss revealed that he will have some discussions with Richard Hughes on the players that featured against PSV:
“At the moment we have most of our players fit, so we will have this discussion tomorrow, me and Richard [Hughes], about these players,”
A host of young players and fringe first team players played on Wednesday night. Liverpool youngsters Tyler Morton, James McConnell, Jayden Danns, Conor Bradley and Jarell Quansah all played meaningful minutes.
The Reds have made a decision on midfielder Stefan Bajcetic. Liverpool have cancelled the midfielder’s current loan deal with Red Bull Salzburg, confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. Bajcetic fell out of favour last month and has barely been involved in the first team since December. The player is set to join La Liga side Las Palmas, where he will be teammates with Fabio Silva. Silva, was once Wolverhampton Wanderers’ record signing for £35million in 2020.
Reds make bold decision on Bajcetic
Arne Slot has preferred Alexis MacAllister and Ryan Gravenberch in midfield this season. While Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot have been rotation options. This means Bajcetic will have to make great strides in his development if he wants to become a first team player.
The Spaniard already showed his talent when he broke out last year, starting in 11 games in the 2022/23 season. His promising season was cut short after he suffered an adductor injury. Bajcetic now needs consistent football, and a move to Spain suits his style. Liverpool could benefit if the 20-year old returns to the form he showed a few seasons ago.
