Liverpool “are set to launch a summer transfer bid” for 18-year-old Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsey, according to Press Journal’s Sean Wallace.
With Jurgen Klopp’s contract wrapped up and sealed, Liverpool are not resting on their laurels as they are close to announcing a deal to sign Fulham’s Fabio Carvalho.
The 19-year-old will cost the Reds £5million upfront and represents the club’s commitment to safeguarding their future.
It clearly doesn’t stop there as Liverpool are now set to make a summer bid for Calvin Ramsay and are reportedly “confident” of their chances of winning the race for his signature.
One of the only areas of Liverpool’s squad that is quite short on depth is right back as Trent Alexander-Arnold is the only player in Jurgen Klopp’s ranks natural to the role.
Joe Gomez has played at right-back on occasion this season and we’ve seen James Milner fill in there at times but Liverpool need a high-quality alternative to Alexander-Arnold to ensure he doesn’t get overuse injuries.
Neco Williams is also expected back at the club in the summer for pre-season and while he’s good enough to play a reserve role at Liverpool, he wants to be playing regularly and so could leave the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
Ramsay, just 18 years old, is an exciting option and appears to be a good fit for the Reds as he’s very comfortable on the ball and loves to drive forward.

He’s also blessed with the ability to play on both feet to a high level and with Liverpool planning a bid and reportedly confident of their chances, it would seem as though he is set for an Anfield switch.
