Liverpool are prepared to pay €50million to sign Gavi if he does not sign a new contract with Barcelona.
The La Liga outfit has decided to sell Frenkie de Jong but if Gavi does not put pen to paper, he could be sold as well and Liverpool have a long-term interest in the young player.
His glittering displays under new manager and midfield icon, Xavi, have not gone unnoticed.
According to Mundo Deportivo and AS, Liverpool, Chelsea, PSG, Everton and Bayern Munich are all interested in the player while Bayern are ready to pay his £42.5million release clause.
Liverpool are also reportedly ready to trigger the clause as per a report from El Nacional. It all depends on whether or not he signs a new contract.
Recently, Joan Laporta was furious with the midfielder’s agent for not responding to Barcelona’s contract offer.
He fumed: “He has an offer for a long time and we still have no news that he has accepted it. This situation hurts us because we do not understand it. He is a 17-year-old boy, with a magnificent present and future at Barça; and we don’t understand what his representative is playing at.
“Our proposal, within our salary levels, is more than acceptable. Now it turns out that his agent is comparing and delaying the decision. I do not like it.”
The 17-year-old could a wonderful alternative if Liverpool are unsuccessful in their attempts to sign Aurelien Tchouameni.
