Mohamed Salah’s long-term future at Liverpool has been hitting the headlines this year due to his current contract situation at Anfield.
Salah is likely to go down as one of the greatest players to wear the famous Liverpool shirt and is set to be remembered as a club legend long after he moves on from Anfield.
However, his time to leave Liverpool could be nearer than what Liverpool fans would want as the attacker is in the final year of his contract with the Merseyside club.
There is no agreement over a new deal between the two sides and clubs in Saudi Arabia, Paris Saint-Germain and MLS teams are interested in snapping up the attacker on a free transfer next summer.
Liverpool do not expect him to join a Champions League rival if he leaves Anfield but they are already plotting to bring in his replacement.
Omar Marmoush, dubbed the next Salah in Egypt, is one of the forwards Liverpool are keeping tabs on with a view to potentially signing him next summer.
The Liverpool target has been tipped to outshine Salah in the future
Marmoush, who has scored eight goals in six Bundesliga games this season, has been tipped for bigger things shortly.
Eintracht Frankfurt are keen to see him sign a new deal but even if he agrees to the fresh terms, he is likely to leave the club next summer.
Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing him and the moniker of being the ‘next Salah’ has intrigued the Reds on Merseyside.
However, Egyptian journalist Tarek Metwally has insisted that Marmoush is much ahead in terms of development at this stage of his career than Salah was.
He stressed that given the way he has been playing, the Eintracht forward will eclipse Salah and claimed that Egyptians now want to see Marmoush join one of the bigwigs of the Premier League soon.
“Everyone here is predicting a very great future for him. In my opinion, Marmoush is in a better position than Salah was at his age”, Metwally told Bild.
“If he continues like this, he will be better at some point.
“Salah was initially characterised by his speed, then developed further.
“Marmoush, on the other hand, is also very fast but already has other skills. Some people in Egypt would like to see him in the Premier League, especially at one of the top clubs.”
