Juventus, Bayern and Real Madrid join race for £75M Liverpool star

Rumours continue to grow around Liverpool players.

The reds’ dreams of a quadruple came to an abrupt end on Sunday. Liverpool experienced a shock defeat to Plymouth in the FA Cup. The championship club sit near the bottom of the league this season. Fans and pundits alike were very surprised about the result.

Arne Slot decided to rotate his team for Sunday’s game. He handed starts to Jarrel Quansah, Trey Nyoni and James McConnell. The result only showed how badly Liverpool needed quality depth players. However, the club chose to have a quiet January window as they planned for the summer.

There was more bad news in the game, as the reds suffered two potential injuries on Sunday according to Arne Slot.

Alongside the result against PSV in the Champions League a few weeks ago, the Plymouth result once again showed a major flaw. Liverpool really lack quality rotation options in the squad. Which makes it more baffling as to why no one was signed in January. The reds’ best performers this campaign have been players tipped to leave in the summer: Salah, Van Dijk and Trent.

According to reports, three clubs have offered Virgil Van Dijk a deal to leave Anfield. Juventus, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid all have offers on the table according to Football365. The defender mentioned recently that nothing has been confirmed about his future, amidst rumours of him signing a new deal.

”The only thing I’m focusing on is the game ahead of me, and I’m feeling good. I think everyone can see that, and what the future brings, at the moment, I’ve got no idea.

So anyone who says they know it, they are absolutely wrong. But we’ll see what happens.”

Reds need to resolve Van Dijk’s future

As the season progresses, fans have become increasingly impatient. Liverpool are yet to be transparent in their dealings this year. No word has been heard from the club over the contracts of Salah, Trent and Van Dijk. And now the club could be set to lose all these players in the summer.

It took a lot of planning and investment to build a core of these three players. Replacing them this summer will be no easy feat looking at the current market. Liverpool’s recruitment team have a lot of pressure to get this right, as next season will depend on the summer window. Seeing how Arne Slot has done in this campaign, he needs to be backed to bring success back to Anfield.
