Jurgen Klopp namedropped Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi while he was praising Mohamed Salah, saying the Egyptian is the best player in the world right now.
Roberto Firmino scored a hattrick and yet, Mohamed Salah still drew most of the praise following the full-time whistle on Liverpool’s 5-0 mauling of Watford away to Vicarage Road.
The no.11 didn’t just produce a trivela assist for Sadio Mane to open the scoring and reach 100 Premier League goals, the third African to do so, but he also went and replicated the unbelievable goal he scored against Manchester City.

Even rival fans that have managed to dispute Salah’s brilliance all these years are beginning to find it tough to deny what he has achieved and the level he is operating at now.
Speaking after the game, Jurgen Klopp waxed lyrical about his star and says he is the best in the world at the moment.
BBC Sport quotes Klopp as saying: “We don’t have to talk about what Messi and Ronaldo have done for world football and their dominance. But right now, he [Salah] is the best.
“I see him every day. There are people like [Robert] Lewandowski and Ronaldo and Messi and [Kylian] Mbappe, but at this moment for sure he’s on top of that list.”
Mbappe, who reportedly earns £20,956,000 per year (£403,000/week), was a target for Liverpool in the summer, according to Rudy Galetti, who claimed in June that the Reds were ready to make a “monster salary” offer to the Frenchman.
As good as Mbappe is and as good as he could become in the next five years, he is not operating at the same level and has just five goals from 12 games this season to Salah’s 10.
While the 29-year-old scored and assisted against Watford, his pace and drive on the ball were a constant threat and even when Firmino was on a hattrick, it felt like Salah was the likelier of the two to end the game with three goals.
The former AS Roma winger has always been a threat for Liverpool. I mean, he scored 44 goals in his first season for the club but this season feels different and I get the sense we’re witnessing something truly special right now.
