Jurgen Klopp delivers blockbuster £70m creative monster to Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has remained a cult figure at Liverpool, and despite the brilliant way the club have handled the transition from him to Arne Slot, the German is a special person for Reds fans. He will deliver more joy this summer by pushing a special player towards Merseyside.

Slot has won over hearts on Merseyside by winning the Premier League in his first season, but he is some way away from touching the popularity of Jurgen Klopp among Liverpool fans.

The German ended Liverpool’s three-decade wait for a league title, and delivered the club’s sixth European Cup during his storied time on Merseyside.

The former Liverpool manager has remained active in the game, and he is now set to facilitate the Reds’ signing of one of their top targets for the summer transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp set to help Liverpool sign a top target

Xavi Simons has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while, and he has been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside, with Slot keen to add more creativity to his squad.

RB Leipzig are prepared to sell him for a fee of £70m, and Graeme Bailey has revealed that, like Jeremie Frimpong, the Reds have carried out extensive checks on the Dutchman, including getting information from Ryan Gravenberch.

He indicated that the Reds have already spoken to Klopp, who is the head of soccer at the Red Bull group, to get an insight into Simons ahead of the summer transfer window.

“In the background, Liverpool did do a lot of checks on Frimpong over the last few months, and interestingly, they’ve done similar investigations on Xavi Simons”, Bailey told TBR Football.

“I keep coming back to Simons, they like him an awful lot, and they’ve done the work on him, obviously speaking to Ryan Gravenberch.

“I’ve been told not to rule out the prospect that Liverpool’s hierarchy will have spoken to Jurgen Klopp about Simons, which I think is interesting.”
