Liverpool are yet to make any big move in the January transfer window so far, despite calls to improve the squad.
Arne Slot’s men have shocked the world this season with how good they have been so far. The Reds are top of the Premier League, and Champions League group phase. Slot’s side are also still in contention for the EFL Cup and the FA cup.
During the summer transfer window, Federico Chiesa was the only first team signing made. The Italian has been out for most of the season, and recently returned to action this past week. There have been many reports about transfer activity at Anfield in the coming weeks.

With how the season has gone for the Reds so far, it is understandable that the club would be expected to have a quiet January window. Liverpool boss Arne Slot even hinted at the fact that the club would not be busy during the window:
“What I make of that is it is January.
“I think I said it after the West Ham game that don’t disappoint me, please come up with all these clubs and all these players that are in the interest from us or the ones that don’t play a lot for us are going to go somewhere else!
“Yeah, that’s what’s happening now. Nine out of 10 times, 99 times out of 100 times in the end of the window, it’s been clear that almost all of these stories weren’t true.
“So, what can I comment about it? That the rumours keep going for it, but no comments from my side.”
Liverpool journalist James Pearce has had his say on what he has heard around the club so far. No first team player has arrived at Anfield in January, and Pearce insists that the Reds will have a quiet window:
“If there’s a deal to be done that make sense financially and is in the club’s long-term interests.”
Will the Reds make any deals during this window?
So far, the only news out of Anfield has surrounded the departure of Darwin Nunez. The striker has been linked with a big money move away from the club. The prospect of key trio Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah departing have only grown stronger over the past few weeks as none of them have agreed to a new contract with the club.
