Liverpool will make some significant changes this summer.
The reds will back Arne Slot in the transfer market ahead of next season. The club have reportedly set aside £250million for transfers this summer. Liverpool only signed two players for the first team this season. Federico Chiesa joined on a cut-price deal from Juventus, while Giorgi Mamardashvili joined from Valencia. Arne Slot has done a great job this season with the current squad at his disposal.
Slot’s new style and tactics brought the best out of some players this season. Ryan Gravenberch has been the best midfielder in England this season after struggling last year.
Liverpool were on the path to winning a treble this campaign, but all hopes ended in the space of a week. The reds were knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain. The club also failed to win the League Cup as they fell to Newcastle United.

Liverpool have some serious decisions to make this summer. The club are set to welcome a whole host of new faces ahead of next season. With Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah set to leave this summer, the club will be looking to sign replacements. All three are set to leave when their contracts expire at the end of the season. The players have attracted multiple suitors willing to sign them on free transfers.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has given his opinion on the pending rebuild this summer:
“I don’t think he’s got any time for four or five of those players in that squad – he’ll refuse to play them.
“The fact he didn’t change players at home to Southampton, in between the PSG games… Southampton are arguably one of the worst, if not the worst, teams we’ve ever seen in the Premier League, and he still didn’t trust his squad!”
The former reds defender then gave his thoughts on what Arne Slot would do with the team.
“I can accept that this season – because it’s not really his squad, its been passed to him – but I think next season (and I’m sure they’ll bring players in) he’ll have to trust his squad more.
“You have to go further in the Champions League [and] you can’t accept a performance like that against Newcastle.
“I’m giving the lads the benefit of the doubt that they’ve run out of steam, but you can’t accept Liverpool playing like that in a cup final.”
Liverpool face Everton when the Premier League resumes after the international break.
