Jamie Carragher criticised his former side’s performance in the opening game of the season against Fulham, calling it ‘one of the poorest’.
The Reds stumbled to a 2-2 draw on the opening weekend following a masterclass from Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Dropping points on the opening game of the season whilst Manchester City’s Erling Haaland stole all the headlines the following day wasn’t exactly an ideal start the 2022/23 season.
Carragher, like many others, have criticised Liverpool’s start but expect them to bounce back immediately.

Carragher’s comments
The former Liverpool player turned pundit was disappointed in their performance but gave them the benefit of the doubt given it was the opening game.
“Well, it certainly wasn’t the Liverpool that we know, or certainly what you’ve seen over the last two or three years,” Carragher claimed when speaking to Sky Sports.
“One of the poorest performances we’ve seen under a Jürgen Klopp team.”
“It’s difficult to be too critical because it’s the first game of the season and this team have produced so much, but the quality is there and I’m sure we’ll an abundance of it over the season.”

That quality can from new signing Darwin Nunez who fired in an audacious backheel finish from a Mohamed Salah assist – a combination that could prove deadly this season.
However, the Reds are currently struggling with injuries and another poor performance in quick succession could pile the pressure on the players.
