“I’m actually desperate”: Ian Wright loves the Reds and claims there is “something special happening at Liverpool”

Ian Wright

After his recent comments, I’m convinced that Ian Wright is secretly a massive Liverpool fan with the former Arsenal striker hoping for Reds success this season.

The Reds are flying at the moment and could win the quadruple this season if luck is on their side and a Champions League semi-final with Villarreal will be the next test.

Following the first leg at Anfield tonight, Liverpool then travel to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle United before a trip to Spain for the second leg.

The games are flying thick and fast at Liverpool and in many ways, it’s a good thing that the players have very little time to think about it all.

It allows Jurgen Klopp, whose style of play is very instinctual, to get the best out of his squad which is stronger than it has ever been.

Ian Wright, who plundered hundreds of goals for Arsenal and Crystal Palace, has recently shown his love for the Reds and seems to secretly be a massive Liverpool supporter.

“I’m actually desperate for Liverpool in this era, in this time, this manager, this special vibe that I’m feeling with Liverpool, I’d love them to do the quadruple,” he said on The Kelly & Wrighty Show on Optus Sport.

“I’d love them to do it, because you couldn’t find a more befitting team of it. What I like about Liverpool at the minute, is when you talk about it, Jurgen Klopp isn’t shutting it down, he’s embracing that, because he knows what his team’s capable of.

“This is what I love about it, this is destiny man, I think there’s something special happening at Liverpool this season.”
