Liverpool are anticipating a whole host of departures in the coming months.
The most obvious candidates to leave Anfield are the three players who are out of contract. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk could leave the club at the end of the season. The trio have been pivotal to the reds’ campaign. Van Dijk has anchored one of the best defences in the league, and Trent is back to his best after an underwhelming campaign last year. Mohamed Salah is playing some of his best football so far; he has 22 goals and 14 assists in the Premier League this season.
Liverpool have also planned some changes to the squad. The reds will make their transfer decisions based on what happens with Salah, Trent and Van Dijk.
Arne Slot reportedly wants new attacking options before the start of next season. Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota could all be on the chopping block. Clubs have already started showing interest in signing Nunez this summer.

Ibrahima Konate speaks on his Liverpool future

In recent weeks, Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has been linked with a move away from the club. Paris Saint-Germain have shown interest according to reports. Liverpool are worried that Konate could leave the club. The defender revealed last month that he had a contract offer on the table. At the end of the season, the Frenchman would have less than two years remaining on his current deal.
However, there is now optimism that Konate could stay. The 25-year old sat in an interview with LFCTV about his future at the club:
“I remember before signing for Liverpool, I spoke with Jurgen [Klopp],” he said. “He told me, ‘The day when you sign, you will see your life will change completely.’
“I was like, ‘Yes, OK, I can trust you.’ But I didn’t expect like that…”
“Everywhere when I travel in the world, we have so many fans everywhere. This changed everything for me.
“Honestly, to be in this club, this means a lot of things because I’m a part of this story, of this club, and I really hope this season and the seasons of the future we will do great things as well.”
Reds need to tie down defender
Liverpool need to learn from their mistakes with the contract sagas over the past year. Ibrahima Konate needs to be tied down to a new long-term deal. Losing two of your best defenders in the space of one window would be a disastrous outcome for the club.
