This Liverpool striker is ready to make a difference. The star player feels he is ready to take on the challenge of playing regularly for one of the biggest clubs in football.
Liverpool welcomed Southampton to Anfield with a 2-1 win in the third round of the Carabao Cup. They are currently riding high with seven wins on the trot across all competitions. Their only loss this season was on penalties against Crystal Palace in the FA Community Shield.
The Red are currently top of the Premier League with five wins in as many matches, five points ahead of the competition. Their Champions League opener against Atletico de Madrid yielded a victory.
With most things going well, its tough finding a starting place in Arne Slot’s XI. But this player feel he is ready to make one spot his own.

Liverpool striker is ready to start games
Alexander Isak arrival at Anfield was a long winding saga. Things did not take off for him right away as Slot cited his lack of match fitness for not starting him immediately.
He began the game against Southampton scoring the opening goal in the fixture right before half time. But he was replaced by Hugo Ekitike at the break. Speaking to ITV Sport after the game Isak felt he was ready, “I feel good. With every game I play it is very helpful and gets me in better shape.”
“It is difficult to say. It is a mixture of fitness-wise and football-wise. I feel good and feel I am in a shape to make a difference.”, he added.
So far he has made three appearances for the club, two of them in cup competitions. The Swede came off the bench against Everton, this was following his club debut against Atletico de Madrid in the Champions League.
Unfortunate for Hugo Ekitike
Hugo Ektike’s dismissal following a second yellow against the Saints has likely opened up a place for the Swede in the starting XI. Isak though feels it was unfortunate for his teammate.
“You score a goal and you’re just in that moment. Of course its unfortunate”, he stated.
Since arriving at Merseyside, Ekitike has found the net 5 times across all competitions.
