Huge meeting scheduled over Trent Alexander-Arnold future

Trent Alexander-Arnold has yet to agree to sign a new contract and Liverpool are yet to get close to finalising an agreement. The Merseyside giants want to hold on to him but the defender has yet to commit to staying at his boyhood club.

Liverpool are prepared to push the envelope to keep the player at Anfield. The Reds have offered him a contract that would make him the highest-paid player at the club.

However, the defender has so far resisted all offers of a new deal from the Reds and is still deliberating over his decision on whether to stay or leave Anfield on a free transfer next summer.

Real Madrid have been in constant contact with his representatives to convince him to move to Spain next summer. The Spanish giants have already offered him an informal contract and will make their official move in January.

The Spanish giants are convinced that he won’t stay at Anfield but Liverpool are confident that he has no plans to leave the club and wants to become their captain in the future.

A key meeting scheduled between the two clubs today for Trent Alexander-Arnold

Real Madrid are on Merseyside for tonight’s big Champions League game between two sides at Anfield.

While the two teams will face off on the pitch tonight, the two club hierarchies have their own tete-e-tete later in the day.

According to Spanish sports daily Marca, Real Madrid officials have invited their Liverpool counterparts for lunch this afternoon.

Real Madrid are hoping to discuss the future of Alexander-Arnold and check where Liverpool stand on the saga at the moment.

The Spanish giants are also keen to check whether Liverpool would be prepared to consider selling the defender in the winter transfer window.

They believe it would not be a shock if the club decide to make him available in the winter window if Alexander-Arnold continues to decline offers of a new deal from the Reds.

The relationship between the two clubs remains excellent and Real Madrid are keen to ensure that it doesn’t get affected due to their interest in the 26-year-old defender.
