Huge Liverpool injury news

Liverpool have made a fantastic start to their Champions League campaign and have won their first three games in Europe this season

The Reds have been exemplary both in the Premier League and the Champions League and have looked like a strong contender for the biggest trophies at the start of their campaign.

However, their 100 percent record in the Champions League will come under threat tonight when they will host Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen at Anfield.

The German champions have not been as good as last season but they have still looked dangerous and are managed by Xabi Alonso who was Liverpool’s top choice to replace Jurgen Klopp.

Alonso will look to put one over his former side tonight and Liverpool are going into the game with some injury scares with several key players missing.

Some good news for the Reds on the injury front

Liverpool are already missing Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa and there were concerns about a few other players as well.

Ibrahima Konate appeared to have picked up an injury in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Brighton at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool were wary that the in-form defender might not be fit enough to face Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League at Anfield.

However, the defender was seen in the open training session on Monday, suggesting that he is fit to be involved in the squad.

Can you name the club Liverpool signed these players from?

It is unclear whether he is fit to start but it seems the Frenchman will definitely be in the matchday squad to take on Bayer Leverkusen tonight.

Konate and Virgil van Dijk’s partnership at the heart of Liverpool’s defence has been massive with the club having one of the best defensive records in European football this season.

The Frenchman has been playing some of his best football under Slot and has so far managed to remain fit and available this season.

Slot has had an effect on his fitness and form with his training sessions and playing style and Liverpool are already in talks over a new deal with his representatives.
