Trent Alexander-Arnold will go down in history as one of the greatest Liverpool players of the modern era. The Englishman spent 20 years in Merseyside, where he won various accolades despite his young age.
However, many fans weren’t pleased when they heard about the full-back’s decision to leave the club. In the early stages, there was a lot of booing that Trent faced from the Reds fans.
Despite the initial disappointment, though, the fans will always be grateful for the 26-year-old’s services to the club. TAA was part of an era where Liverpool won all the possible trophies they could, with the Premier League going in twice.
The England international garnered more than 350 appearances for the senior team, scoring 23 goals and providing 92 assists in the process.
Following two decades of success at Anfield, Trent announced that he’ll be leaving the club on the 5th of May. He did so through the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where he claimed, “This is easily the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my life.”
TAA also went on to say that it was because he was seeking a new challenge, as Liverpool had become a comfort zone for him. Although he announced that he’ll be leaving as a free agent at the end of the season, Real Madrid had different plans for the full-back.

Trent was notified about an early move on Liverpool parade day

According to The Telegraph, Trent Alexander-Arnold was notified on the Liverpool open bus parade that he’ll be leaving Merseyside earlier than expected.
The full-back had taken a back seat after the decision. He let the clubs decide regarding the intricate details of the transfer. Trent expected a free transfer, but Xabi Alonso apparently needed him earlier than expected.
Michael Edwards, Richard Hughes and Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon told the Englishman on the Liverpool open bus parade that he won’t be a free transfer and that Los Blancos need him for the FIFA Club World Cup.
He was also notified about the £10m transfer fee that Madrid would pay to get him on board early. Trent’s season wasn’t over with just a Premier League title, as the FIFA Club World Cup was still in reach.
However, things didn’t work out for Los Vikingos as they lost 4-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals of the competition.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is taking his time to adjust at the Santiago Bernabéu as Thomas Tuchel decided to drop him from the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers. This decision probably came into force to allow the player to adjust to a new life in Spain.
