Liverpool duo might move to seek consistent game time elsewhere as a result of heavy summer transfer spending.
Liverpool’s busy summer transfer window may trigger departures, with Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton both open to moves for more consistent game time. Backing new manager Arne Slot with big signings has strengthened the first team, but it has also placed emerging talents further down the pecking order.
West Ham Target Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton
According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United are keen to bring in both Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton as part of their squad refresh. The club believes both young midfielders could contribute immediately and develop under a new system with more playing time than they’re likely to receive at Anfield this season.
Elliott Shines for England But Faces Uncertainty at Liverpool
Despite being named Player of the Tournament at the UEFA U21 European Championship, Elliott faces uncertainty over his future at Liverpool. He scored five goals during the tournament, including a brace in the semi-final against the Netherlands and a crucial goal in the final versus Germany, helping Lee Carsley’s side retain their title.
However, the arrival of Florian Wirtz and Liverpool’s increasingly competitive midfield means Elliott may struggle to find regular minutes. Last season, he played in 18 league matches but started only two, averaging just 22 minutes per game. That’s a drop from the season before when he started 11 times and averaged 40 minutes.

Elliott Focused on Career Goals and England Dream
Speaking to The Anfield Wrap, Elliott expressed his lifelong desire to stay at Liverpool but emphasised that he needs to be selfish at times to achieve his dream of making the 2026 World Cup squad under Thomas Tuchel. A move to West Ham, where he’d likely be a starter, could help fulfill that ambition.

Tyler Morton, who also represented England at youth level, is another young talent Liverpool could lose. He is believed to be open to a transfer in pursuit of regular first-team football, with West Ham reportedly preparing an approach. European clubs are also showing interest in the 21-year-old, who is highly rated within Liverpool’s academy system.
